1980
Founders, Don & Teri Lavocat, start Lavocat’s out of the family home in Clarence, NY with a few hoop houses and a dream.
1988
Annual production starts heating up, with Don and Teri selling their top-notch flowers and produce at local farmers markets.
1993
The kids get involved in the action, starting with Kellie, the oldest, with Donnie Jr. and Chris not far behind!
1998
The family begins to branch out into new categories, like landscaping, nursery plants and perennials.
2003
The operation is up to eight hoop houses and employs half a dozen plucky employees excited to join in on the growing!
2008
The business keeps expanding and things are getting a little crowded…
2014
The kids take the plunge to move the business from Heroy Rd. to a newly built, 19,000 sq. ft. facility in East Amherst.
2015
Ribbon cutting day in East Amherst, complete with town representatives and giant scissors!
