Established in 1980 by Don and Teri Lavocat; we have produced top quality annuals, perennials, vegetable plants, shrubs, and trees. We are truly a family run operation, now with 3 generations working in the business. Teri and Don are still very involved and their children manage the business operation. Chris oversees the garden center, growing process, nursery and business expansion. Kellie has built the houseplant, pottery & gift business to be a premiere destination. Donnie has established the landscape business to be a quality, 5 star rated operation. Grandsons Jake & Evan can now be seen helping around the business, too!
In 2015 we opened our 19,000 square foot, state-of-the-art garden center on County Road, less than a mile from Transit Rd. Since then, we have expanded to include our XX,XXX square foot growing greenhouse, enlarged our tree and shrub lot and are excited about future improvement plans! We grow over 800 varieties of plants, from everyone’s favorites to hard to find unusual garden plants (favorites of those Our nursery lot stays stocked from spring through fall with hundreds of varieties of trees, shrubs and grasses. Recently we invested heavily in houseplants and have become WNY’s largest selection of houseplants and plant pottery.
Central to our mission is to serve the local community, launching our Growing Kindness philanthropy efforts. In the year of the global pandemic we hosted multiple events to help fellow small business, environmental groups and donated Tops gift cards to the needy and we are just getting started! We also strive to be kind to mother earth. Over the past few years we have been dedicated to using more sustainable practices and have incorporated “earth pots” this year to reduce the use of plastics. We grow our vegetable plants with only organic methods of pest and disease control. All of our flowers are grown with the environment in mind, meaning we don’t use Neonic pesticides (harmful on bees) and have been integrating more natural methods of pest and disease control. We take the environmental issues very seriously and are helping our customers learn about better gardening practices.
As a full-service garden center and nursery we also offer bulk topsoil and mulch for pickup or delivery. We also carry a full selection of fertilizer, soil, bagged mulch, grass seed, and much more garden related items.
